Island Planet Tropical Clothing

A wood square is edged with woven rattan; both the wood and the inside ring of rattan are stain-rubbed a deep burnt sienna (remember that crayon?)color.

This type of construction is an ancient weaving technique called the bee skep after the domed hives early beekeepers made for their bees. It's more easily seen in the pretty little caddy that houses the coasters!

Coasters are 4"x 4"; caddy measures 2"x 4".
