Island Planet Tropical Clothing

These wonderful Island Planet Cover Ups are done in the ever-popular batik white motif--here lovely hibiscus on colorful backgrounds!

Using the ancient batik process, the white rayon material is first impressed with wax motifs--here, hibiscus flowers--next it's dyed in brilliant solar-reactive colors (only done on sunny days!). The wax is then removed in a hot bath leaving the white motif!

These Cover Ups measure 33" across seam-to-seam. An extra 5" of rayon beyond the seams on each side creates a graceful flowing effect. They are 32" long and feature an intricate batik border above the hand-knotted fringed hem.

Cold water wash, hang to dry.
