Island Planet Tropical Clothing

Here's looking at you! Delightfully friendly jungle animal, birds, butterfly faces smiling out from tropical green foliage! Cuddle up under 40" x 50" of a handpainted cotton batik mini comforter. Back is solid color medium blue.

These mini comforters are lovely vintage pieces rolled up for 35 years, just washed and dried in the machine, cold water and turned out beautifully! An opportunity to have one and there is only one of these.

Beginning with white cotton material, the picture is drawn by hand with pencil, the drawn lines are traced with a thin stream of wax; when the wax is dried, the outlines are handpainted in; the paints are solar-reactive, and the finished painted products are dried in the sun after which they are boiled to removed the wax, dried and sewn to a backing with cotton/poly fill between, then quilted.

Well there you have it, a real work of art.
