Soaking the rattan so it's easier--not easy, but easier--to slice by hand into very narrow strips, dying the fiber, then while it's still flexible weaving it into shapes.

The large disc of handwoven rattan measures 4" across and features smooth Buli shells in the four points of the compass!

Made completely by hand.
